Twentysomething Ilyana Lanai is a Sports and Entertainment journalist and accomplished writer. Her career began after she was "Let Go" from the National Basketball Association for not sleeping with her boss. Instead of suing the manipulative pervert ( the girl before her did and got a free ride through Grad-School, info that would have been nice to know at the time) she went on to freelance for every Sports and Entertainment Magazine who would have her.

The only daughter of a Russian Political Refugee and a Washington Insider, Ilyana was raised in New York City where she spent her early life as a professional dancer, attending the same high-school as Scarlett Johansson, Macaulay Culkin, Vanessa Carlton,Sarah Michelle Gellar and the infamous Hilton Sisters. Those years remain much of a fog, the memories buried deep beneath nights spent out avoiding her mothers' phone calls, in much too high heels, leading boys on and partying far past curfew.

Due in part to her fathers passion for the Boston Celtics, as well as a long term on again- off again affair with an NBA All-Star basketball player, Ilyana became versatile in the language of sports and celebrity. While pursuing her college degree, she was offered a job in the Public Relations office of the NBA. Eventually, she went on to work for the man who would later be referred to only as, "El Pervo." Desperate to become friends with the women in her new office, she wore nothing but turtlenecks and slacks to work, but it was barely a week before rumors began circulating that she had to have slept her way to a promotion and must have fake breasts. For the record, her breasts are real and she's never been smart enough to sleep with anyone who could actually promote her. Refer to the above.

At the age of twenty-four while getting ready for a party, Ilyana suffered a "cerebral venous thrombosis." While her doctors feared she might never walk or properly talk again, she overcame great odds, working tirelessly with her physical and speech therapists to be able to walk out of the hospital rocking her favorite 4 inch Louboutin boots while reciting the lyrics to 50 Cents P.I.M.P. As a treat, after a year of hard work, Ilyana decided to escape a harsh New York winter, meeting her best-friend in South Beach for a weekend of sun and relaxation. Shortly thereafter, she met "The Guy" and three months later broke the lease on her New York apartment.

She currently splits her time between New York and Miami with her true love, who begs her to stop spending "absurd amounts of money" shopping on Lincoln Road. She is hard at work editing her Novel, "Introducing Mia Davidson", still thinks that Jay-Z is the King of New York, Project Runway, The Daily Show and House are the most important shows on television and endures weekly lectures from her mother via telephone, begging her never to get married.

"Marriage is raw deal for woman. The only thing husband is good for is transportation." As in out of one country and into the next!
