I was going to write something cute and witty, give some advice or maybe write an ode to Valentines of past, funny stories about gifts gone awry, guys gone wrong, the memorable and the forgettable. But I can’t. I can’t because I haven’t slept in days and my brain feels like it’s gone mush. Incapable of forming cohesive, intelligible thoughts. Cupids got a chokehold on me. Love…..Love is tempermental. It’s Exhilerating. Exhausting. It makes demands of you. It will use you. Change its mind. It can humiliate you, starve or feast on you. Its hard and soft, impossible to manipulate and yet so manipulative. Love is pure. And tainted. It is worth living for and dying for. It is what gives you the strength to carry on and the peace to let go. Love is like oxygen, without it we die. It’s is real. And worth fighting for. Love is a natural disaster. Love is my Natural Disaster. Seriously, you have no idea.

Happy Valentines Day everyone. And if your single, tell all the smug “In Love” people that you plan on getting some booty around midnight when the Valentines left by the wayside have lowered their standards so far that just getting laid seems like a gift:)

As for me, I’m off to enjoy chocolate covered strawberries, a massage and a romantic night in, because in my household, every day is Valentines day……
