 - This weeks entertainment-

update: Almost done with this weeks books. Loved them all except for Dave Eggers “A Heartbreaking work of Staggering Genius” which I only bought because it was a Pulitzer finalist. I really wanted to love it…... I need more books. Any recommendations?

I was on this kick for a while… doing a book a day or every two days, but then I discovered blogging, and that went down the tube, lol.

I couldnt help but smile reading this post - i too was a big reader at a young age, digesting everything on my parents somewhat modest bookshelf. But i’ve also, now that i’m grown, fallen under the spell of the tv. Maybe now that its the holidays and i have 10 days off work, i can fit in a few books ?

I relate, but my enemy is definitely more the computer than it is the tv. I spend all my time online and I never seem to leave enough time for good books. Thanks for reminding me how much I miss it!

I’ve read The Lovely Bones! I need to get back into reading mode as well… maybe over the holidays, when there’s no internet and no good TV at home :)

I love to read… but I am by no means as fast as I was when I was younger! And with all the stress in my life, I tend to fall asleep when I read. But I want to read more… my goal is a book a week. Not doing too well with it right now. Have fun!

I use to be a voracious reader, though it slipped a bit in college. TV is definitely making people dumber (Reality Tv?!), but I think it is a nice break for an hour or two.

Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, I’m reading that at the moment and I love it.
